Liberal Democrat members and party staffers have been instructed to start referring to party leader Tim Farron as ‘Glorious Leader’. The announcement was made via an internal email circulated by the Liberal Democrat Party on Monday.
The email explained that to ‘recognise and appreciate Farron’s true greatness’ he must be referred to, from now on, as the ‘Glorious Leader’. In addition the email stated that Liberal Democrats should halt and salute when they see Farron, and that any speeches he makes should be followed by a standing ovation lasting ‘at least 10 minutes’.
When contacted by The Spark a Liberal Democrat source confirmed that the email was genuine, and went on to describe Farron as a ‘unique gift to humanity’ who would ‘revive Britain’s greatness and sweep away the corrupt and decadent elite’.
He added that the party is currently looking to move out of its London headquarters to fund ‘statues of Farron in all the great cities of Britain’ and is preparing a range of posters depicting Farron, along with former leader Nick Clegg and Vince Cable, as ‘great revolutionary icons’.
