Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron has vowed that, if he becomes Prime Minister, he will make Britain ‘feared again’. He made the remarks during a speech at a Lib Dem rally in Cheltenham on Sunday.

Farron told the assembled crowd that under recent Prime Ministers Britain has become ‘weak and timid’ and as a result was being ‘disrespected by foreign powers’. He pledged that if he became Prime Minister ‘this will stop’ adding that ‘once again the world will respect and fear Britannia’.

Becoming more agitated, and gesturing wildly with his arms, Farron asserted that he would take a ‘very hard line’ during Brexit negotiations. Whilst admitting that he used to be a ‘Remain supporter’ he stated that unless Europe gives Britain a favourable Brexit deal ‘we should burn their cities, take their children as slaves and sow the fields with salt’. He ended his speech by demanding ‘blood, blood, blood’ and shouting that ‘all enemies of England will die’.

Farron went on to receive a ten minute standing ovation from Lib Dem supporters, who thrust their fists into the air chanting ‘Rule Britannia’ and ‘Death to Traitors’.
