It’s been reported that Chinese intelligence has stopped bothering to bug the White House on the basis that ‘Trump posts everything on Twitter anyway’. Leaked documents have revealed that the Chinese Ministry of State Security (MSS) deactivated all the bugs they had in the White House on 21 February, a month after Trump’s inauguration as President.

The documents state that ‘detailed analysis’ concluded that the MSS was no longer getting any ‘productive intelligence’ from the bugs, as all information gathered had already ‘been picked up by following the President's Twitter feed’. As a result the agency can no longer justify ‘the time and expense’ it takes to bug the White House itself.

Indeed the documents asserted that the primary difference between the White House situation room and Trump’s Twitter feed is that Trump spends ‘marginally less’ time talking about ratings for TV show The Apprentice and Alec Baldwin’s Saturday Night Live impersonations of him on the social networking site.

Chinese intelligence is reportedly confident that they can pick up any information which Trump doesn’t share on Twitter from sources at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Trump has chosen to handle a number of security situations at the Mar-a-Lago private members club, where he spends his weekends, in full view of club guests. As a result security sources have told The Spark that almost all club members are ‘working for at least one foreign intelligence agency’. Consequently the club has become a focal social point for the international intelligence community, with officers from the FSB, M16, Mossad and French intelligence ‘rubbing shoulders, drinking together and collecting American state secrets’.
